John C. Grellner

Mr. Grellner represents individual and corporate clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, with a focus on real estate, construction litigation and general commercial litigation. Mr. Grellner has practiced law for over seventeen years representing businesses, developers, contractors, title companies, property owners, trustees, beneficiaries, commercial landlords and commercial tenants in litigation and regulatory matters. Mr. Grellner is licensed in Missouri and Illinois, and is admitted to appear before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

In addition to earning his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mr. Grellner also obtained a Master’s Degree in Asian Studies from Washington University, speaks Mandarin Chinese and has spent significant time living and working in China.

Notable Representations

• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of product manufacturer in a lawsuit filed in federal court seeking over $20 million in damages and involving claims for breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence and fraud.
• Successfully defended a medical malpractice insurer-client in a multi-million dollar coverage dispute in federal court involving claims of bad faith refusal to defend and breach of contract.
• Obtained a favorable judgment in redistricting litigation filed on behalf of clients concerning the St. Louis County, Missouri, County Council Districts.
• Represented cell phone tower developers in federal court ligation concerning disputed lease rights.
